Vizier Ankhhaf

Vizier - The People

Prince of Egypt, son of Pharaoh Snefru, Ankhhaf became one of the Viziers to his half Brother, Pharaoh Khufu, and potentially to his Nephew, Pharaoh Khafre. It appears that Prince Ankhhaf took on the main architectural role of the Great Pyramid at the Giza Necropolis during its later stages as a Vizier as well as an Architect. Click here for more information about the Great Pyramid. His role was concerned with the deliverance of the Tura White Limestone, from the quarry to the Port, and on top the top of the Pyramid’s Limestone base.

Egyptologists also believe that he may have had an Architectural role in the construction of the Great Sphinx, also at the Giza Necropolis. Click here for more information about the Great Sphinx.

He married his half-sister, Princess Hetepheres, and together they had their own child, Princess Hetepheres.

His own Tomb was the largest ever discovered in the Eastern Cemetery in the Giza Necropolis and is designed as Mastaba Tomb G7510. For more details about his Tomb, click here.
