The Capital Cities

Thebes

The capital for the majority of this dynasty, now known as Luxor 

Akhetaten

The capital of Pharaoh Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti, now known as Amarna

Memphis

The capital was moved here by Pharaoh Tuthmose III

Great Building Achievements

The Palace City for the Royal Family and the administration to deal with the Governance of Egypt. It was the largest Palace City Complex in Egypt and covered 226,000 square meters, located between the Nile and the Theban Hills on the West Bank of Thebes

A planned Community home for the Worker’s and Artisan’s which they called home whilst they worked on the Tombs in the Valley of the Kings, Queens and Nobles

It is often known as the Temple by the Colossi of Memnon. At the time of publishing the Temple is being re-erected by the Egyptian Authorities

Mortuary Temple of the Pharaohs Tutankhamun, Ay and Horemheb

Menmenu: Regrettably there is little to nothing left of the Mortuary Temple and little information is left to be discovered. It does appear as though Pharaoh Tutankhamun died before completing the Temple and so Pharaoh Ay took the Mortuary Temple on as his own which was then usurped by Pharaoh Horemheb as he did with many of his predecessors’ monuments

The Tombs of the Nobles are dotted around much of the Theban Necropolis on the Western side of the River Nile at Thebes
