The Osirion

Abydos - Capital Cities

Not to be confused with the Sanctuary of Osiris which was a succession of Temples built over the 30 Pharaonic Dynasties of Egypt, the Osirion was built by Pharaoh Seti I and is a monument to the God Osiris’ memory.

Located behind Pharaoh Seti I’s Great Temple at Abydos and was originally covered by an artificial hill as the monument is below ground in memory of the God Osiris’ role as God of the Underworld.
